If the plan was authorized it can legalize existing buildings and give more building rights for inhabitants.
Aqqabeh and Khareb neighborhood is located in Beit Hanina, and surrounded by Atarot industrial area from north and from east Nussibeh housing
The number of inhabitants in Aqqabeh and Kharayeb neighborhood according to IPCC field survey on 2012 is 600, inhabited in 60 housing units. The neighborhood lacks basic and public facilities, and existing buildings are not licensed and inhabitants have to pay high fines imposed by Jerusalem municipality which couldn’t afford.
IPCC initiated planning work on 2012, and with high community support through intensive meetings to discuss the plan and its components till opening the planning file in the municipality.
The area of plan is 135 dunum, and includes streets, public area, open green area; it also suggests the construction of two schools, two mosques, kindergarten and nursery, cultural center, community center and green area with an area of 14 dunum.
