International Peace and Cooperation Center (IPCC) in partnership with UNDEF organized its fifth awareness gathering for project "Youth for Change Agents: Building Capacities to Define Public Space in Palestine" in Ramallah on 07 August 2017, where IPCC will organize similar gatherings in all West Bank governorates.
International Peace and Cooperation Center (IPCC) in partnership with UNDEF organized its fifth awareness gathering for project "Youth for Change Agents: Building Capacities to Define Public Space in Palestine" in Ramallah on 07 August 2017, where IPCC will organize similar gatherings in all West Bank governorates.
The gathering was attended by more than 40 participants, including Engineer Jihad Rabay’a head of Surveying and Information System department, Mr. Raed Baghouthi head of local government for Ramallah governorate, Dr. Ali Abd Alhamid head of urban planning unit in An-Najah National University and with participation of Kubar Development Association. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Sharar Baghouthi from IPCC where he explained about IPCC and its scope of work. Eng. Rawan Naser Eddin UNDEF project monitoring and evaluation officer explained about project and its goals during its 2 years period, Eng. Basel Quttaineh manger of Area C planning project gave a lecture about "Urban planning concept and management of public space" which included an explanation about planning and its goals, type of plans and methodology of preparing plans, role of IPCC in preparing plans and the relation between planning and the public space. Eng. Rabay’a clarified some points regarding principles and planning laws used in Palestinian territories. Dr.Al Abd Alhamid provided a lecture about public space and provided examples from Inside and outside Palestine which highlighted the impact of public space on inhabitant’s life. Finally Mr. Raed Baghouthi talked about importance of such issue and role of youth in development of public space and some follow up procedures.
