The international Architectural and Urban Design Summer Studio was a collaborative effort by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University (FSMVÜ) and the International Peace and Cooperation Center (IPCC) to address planning challenges in Palestine, particularly in Area C and East Jerusalem. This initiative aimed to strengthen Palestinian resilience by focusing on participatory planning to tackle issues like outdated zoning, low plot ratios, and restricted building rights. Held in East Jerusalem, the studio involved students and professionals from Palestine and Turkey, who, over three weeks, worked on projects such as historical site regeneration, mixed-use neighborhoods, and public space design. Guided by skilled tutors, participants developed strategic and spatial solutions for the selected sites, making the studio both an academic and transformative experience.
