As part of project THINK, PLAN and ACT, Building Capacity of Palestinian Youth to Support Planning, IPCC and in cooperation with MEPI organized two training workshops titled THINK, PLAN and make a difference, Building Capacity of Palestinian Youth to Support Planning, the first was on 19-20 December 2015 with the participation of 23 participants, where the second was on 26-27 December 2015 and with the participation of 27 participants from students in different disciplines (urban planning, environmental engineer, law). An expert engineers, planners and lawyers beside IPCC planning team conducted the necessary training.
The two workshops were held in Jericho Resort Village and spanned two days and with an average of 16 training hours.
The first day discussed the following themes:
- Reality of urban planning in Palestine.
- Concept, components and recent theories of planning in Area C and East Jerusalem.
The second day themes:
- Environmental agriculture.
- Management of environmental and natural resources during planning process
- Landownership and its importance in the planning process
During the two days participants were divided into groups and participated in practical training on planning experiences and also sign a commitment paper to participate in future initiatives as requested.
