PLAN
Issue 1
October 2015
In 2015, a team of experts from the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) visited Palestine to review the situation and work done on planning under their Urban Planning Advisory Team (UPAT) workshop programme. IPCC led many of the field visits for the team, helping them to understand the local context and see the results on the ground that planning work can achieve.
This is the first of three editions of PLAN magazine which focuses on the results and experience of the team during the visit. Articles include descriptions and analysis of the historical background, the current situation and the future scenarios for the strategic spatial development of Palestine with its different regions and resources. There is in depth study on how to revitalise Jerusalem as the urban core of the future Palestinian state (1967 borders).
IPCC contributed an article presenting a future vision for a viable Palestinian State.
