IPCC’s research is one of the three pillars of its work, alongside ‘Spatial and Strategic Planning’ and ‘Training and Awareness’. Publication of policy papers, reports and books provides an effective advocacy tool, focusing on 3 major themes: the past, through the historic development of the situation in Jerusalem; the present, documenting the facts on the ground, the effect of Israeli policy on development in East Jerusalem; and the future, planning for a viable and sustainable Palestinian Jerusalem. All of these themes are woven together in comparative studies comparing other divided cities and cities in transition with the situation in Jerusalem. IPCC carries out in depth surveys and studies within the communities it works in whilst developing this research.
